What's next for Phoenix and APOE4 (plus some news from me)

Oura, Whoop, Garmin integrations to have your data in one place with an APOE4 lens

Hi Phoenix friend,

The word I hear most from APOE4 carriers is overwhelm.

Too much information, and half of it contradicts the other half. Forums, Facebook groups, YouTube, Google, a chatbot late at night. A doctor who says to come back when you have symptoms. Fifty things that might help, so you end up doing none of them.

That's the problem I'm building Phoenix to solve: less overwhelm, and everything you need for APOE4 in one place. You don't have to make APOE4 your full-time job.

Here's what that looks like today, and what's next. (I'll share this every month from now on, out in the open.)

Your health in one place: the full mobile app revamp

You shouldn't have to log the same thing in five places. That's the big idea behind the new Phoenix app.

Through new partnerships, the new app has deep integration with Apple Health, Google Health Connect, Oura, Garmin, Strava, WHOOP and Polar. Add your bloodwork and brain tests, and your health lives in one place, built around your APOE4 needs:

  • Your wearables, bloodwork and brain tests in one place: sleep, heart rate, steps and workouts next to your lab results and brain test scores.

  • Your APOE4 roadmap, in the app: your step-by-step plan, what you take, your experiments and matching trials.

  • A health report for your doctor: a PDF to bring to your next appointment.

It's faster, more intuitive, more modern and easier to use (and yes, prettier :) ). I worked really hard on this one, and I'm proud of the result. It's in testing now, on iPhone and Android. When it lands in the App Store and Google Play, you'll hear it from me first.

Know your next step, and see how your numbers move

  • Your roadmap: a personal step-by-step plan in the web app, from your baseline to your proof. No more guessing where to start.

  • Research you can use: our first research release, 476 members and 30,737 biomarker readings, searchable by goal. Plus two member studies, results published: red-light therapy with Neuronic and vagus nerve stimulation with ZenoWell.

People who get it

You don't have to work it out alone. Phoenix is built with 750+ APOE4 carriers. Members get monthly pods (small groups of carriers with the same goal, matched every month), expert Q&As all year with neurologists, researchers and doctors, and a daily check-in that syncs with your wearable, so you can see how your numbers move.

Free right now, for anyone

Use them, and send them to someone who needs them.

Fully independent, so the discount goes to you

Phoenix takes no commission on anything it recommends to members. Any commission we could take is directly passed to you as a bigger discount. If we recommend something, it's because we believe it can help you. You buying it never earns Phoenix a cent.

So members get:

  • Blood tests at member prices: up to 70% below retail, ordered right in the app (US for now).

  • A private supplement store: up to 35% off major brands in the US, and now up to 30% off in Canada.

We negotiate the best possible prices for you. The full discount goes to you. Phoenix keeps nothing.

Coming next

  • Coming in November: our expert Q&A with Dr. Michael Davidson, CEO of NewAmsterdam Pharma, the company running the obicetrapib clinical trials, on cholesterol, APOE4 and the brain. Plus Dr. Dale Bredesen and more, recorded and coming soon.

  • The Cambridge memory study: a free precision memory test with the University of Cambridge. Take your second test now to see how your cognition evolved.

  • A second red-light therapy study with Neuronic: recruiting soon.

  • Brain Health 100 and Move the Odds: 100 people advancing brain health, and a free movement for APOE4 awareness.

  • In 2027: blood tests in Canada, the UK and Australia, the store in the UK and Australia, our next research release (the pooled analysis of what works when you stack interventions), and my Everest Marathon on 29 May 2027 to raise awareness about APOE4 (Move the Odds project).

Exploring

We're exploring a few clinical trial partnerships for APOE4 carriers. Nothing is signed yet; we'll name partners when they agree.

Some news from me

I've built Phoenix solo until now, and we've grown very fast: 750+ APOE4 carriers and counting. Now I am raising an angel round from APOE4 carriers, so we can hire and build faster.
If you want to join the adventure, reply to this email and I'll share the details privately. Not an investor but want to help?
Share Phoenix with a carrier who needs it, or reply with an intro, an idea or a skill. I read every one.

Plans change as we learn. I'll update this every month and tell you when something moves.

Not a part of Phoenix yet?

Cheers,
Kevin

How does APOE4 cause Alzheimer's?

APOE4 does not cause Alzheimer's alone. It raises risk, and research points to five routes: amyloid, tau, immune cells, cholesterol and blood vessels.
